How do we work?
We work through relationship, through celebrating shared values and commonalities, and through building communities that recognize our inter-dependence. We draw on Jewish and other spiritual traditions that inspire us. We believe that the path to a world of peace is the way of peace. We work through drama, art, music, dialogue, and participation in events in the wider community.

Because not everyone wants to participate in Tikkun in the same way, we have developed a structure that allows people to take part in Tikkun in ways that meet their individual needs and desires.

We meet in four different forms, described and illustrated below. Members can choose to join Spirit groups, and/or Political Action Groups, and/or attend Community Gatherings

Organizing Committees: These are the long term structural groups, which include the following:

Steering Committee: an umbrella group to make decisions affecting whole organization, and to speak for Tikkun Toronto.
Welcoming Committee: greets and orients new Tikkun members.
Communication Committee: so everyone knows what’s happened, what’s going on, and what’s going to happen.
Conflict Resolution Committee: for otherwise unresolvable issues.

Spirit Groups: Self-selected “home” groups, maximum size fifteen, for those who want spiritual bonding, political discussion, and consistent support.

Political Action Groups: Short term groups formed to do particular tasks: put on a play, organize a conference, or hold a discussion. May draw from all Tikkun members or from one Spirit Group.

Community Gatherings: Gatherings of the whole Tikkun Community to celebrate and share with each other, or make major decisions. These will include a spiritual component.
